SchoolMoney: Setup for Locally Hosted SIMS

Scope  

  • Steps on how to setup the V44 link to extract data from a local SIMS to import into SchoolMoney.
Instructions – Install SIMS link
1. Go to ​Eduspot ​and click Sign In from the top right. Choose Teachers2Parents from the dropdown list.
2. Lo
gin to Teachers2Parents using your SchoolMoney login details.
3. 
Click on Text Message Service.
4. 
Click ​Admin from the top right list of icons.


5.  Click on the ​Set up Sims tab from the top.


6. Click Sims Link 44 Link. Run when prompted (if it downloads, open the download > Run).


7. Click ​Run ​on the Publisher cannot be verified ​message.
8. 
The T2P Sims link window will appear. Enter ​your SchoolMoney username & password > click ​Run.
9. 
In the Sims link window it will say: ​Running… Importing… Running…
10. When it has finished, it will say ​Completed Import. Or ​a browser window will appear asking you to ​Click to Complete, after you have clicked the box it will confirm the import has Finished… you can close this window, close the browser window.
11. 
Click ​Save on the Sims link window. Click ​OK on the pop up then close the Sims link window.
12. 
If you see a program compatibility message, click the option: ​The Program Installed correctly.
13. 
You should now have an icon on your server Desktop called ​t2p_v44.

  • You can double click this icon to run the update again.
  • The ​t2p_v44 service ​should also be in your Startup folder. To check, go to Start menu > AllPrograms > Startup.
14. Once your link is set up on your SIMS server or workstation, the link between SIMS and SchoolMoney will automatically run each morning when the computer is switched on.
15. Should you need to run it manually in the middle of the day, double-click the t2p1_v44 icon on your desktop to force the link to run. 

 
Instructions – Resolve Setup Error

If you see a consol Error (2 windows, a blank window above another with an error saying Consol error, couldn’t load Library…) when attempting to install the Sims link, you will need to set this up manually following the below instructions.

1. Close the 2 error windows.
2. 
On your keyboard hit Windows key & R to open the Run window. In the text field type: %appdata% then click OK.
3. 
The Application Data window should appear> find and open the T2PSimslink folder.
4. 
Right-click on the t2p1_ v44.exe > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut). Then close the window.
5. 
Go to the server’s Desktop and right-click the t2p1_v44 shortcut > Copy.
6. 
On your keyboard, hit the Windows Key & R to open the Run window again. Type in shell:startup then click OK.
7. 
The Startup folder will appear. Right-click in the window > Paste the shortcut. Then close the window.
8. 
On the server Desktop, double-click the t2p1_v44 icon. Fill in the Username and Password (your SchoolMoney login details) > Run.
9. 
Fill in the SIMS Username and Password > click OK.
10. 
Save and close when completed.
