Teachers2Parents: Install the Central Link v12

Scope

Steps to install the Central Link v12 used for updating Teachers2Parents from centrally hosted SIMS.

Instructions – Installing the Central Link v12

1. Go to Admin > Options.
2. In General, confirm that the School Database System (MIS) is set to SIMS.
   • If so, go to Step 3.
   • If not, select that option from the drop-down and click Save. Click OK on the pop-up to return to Home to apply that change. Continue to Step 3.
3. Go to Setup SIMS > Citrix Link V2.10.0.

4. Click Run when prompted. If it downloads the file instead, open it and then click Run.
5. For Publisher cannot be verified, click Run again.
   • Note: If you see an error message window that says Couldn’t load library at this stage, read our guide for further information: Teachers2Parents: Couldn’t Load Library Error.
6. The T2P-SIMS-Link-Central-V2.12.0 window will open in the bottom right.

8. Click Settings.
9. In T2P Username and T2P Password, enter your login details for Teachers2Parents > Save.

11. In the confirmation window, click OK.
12. Close the T2P-SIMS-Link-Central-V2.12.0 window.

Instructions – Importing the Report in SIMS

1. In SIMS, go to Reports > Import > Open.
2. Click on Hosted SIMS.
3. Go to C: Drive (normally labelled as C on office… or c: client v) > T2PSimslink
4. Double-click on the A_T2P_Central_V2.12.0.RptDef file. It will appear in the Import window with the name A_T2P_Central_v11 and the status Pending.
5. Click Import and the status will change to Imported > Close.

Instructions – Running the Report in SIMS

1. In SIMS, go to Reports > Run Report.
2. Expand the Focus folder > Student > double-click A_T2P_Central_V11:
   • If the window says …report has been created, click OK and minimize SIMS. Continue to the next section.
   • If the window says Unable to create file… then follow these steps to resolve:
   • Go to Reports > Design Report > Open an Existing Report.
   • Expand the Focus folder > Student > double-click A_T2P_Central_V11.
   • Click Finish > Back to go to the Define Presentations page.
   • In the file name you will have a predefined path of \tsclientcT2PSimslinkt2p_pupil_contacts.xml.
   • Select and copy t2p_pupil_contacts.xml from the end of the path.
   • Click Browse.
   • Go to Hosted SIMS > C: Drive (normally labelled as C on office… or c: client v) > T2PSimslink.
   • Paste t2p_pupil_contacts.xml into the file name.
   • Click Save > Finish > Save My Report > OK.
   • Close all the pages open in SIMS until you are on the first page showing the SIMS logo.
   • Return to Step 1 above and retry.
